Callie – Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 11, 2025

This Privacy Policy explains how the Callie calculator app (“Callie,” “we,” “our,” “us”) handles information. Callie itself does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data or your calculations. The app runs fully on-device. We do show banner ads using Google AdMob, and we offer an in-app purchase to remove ads.

Summary (the short version)

  • We don’t collect your data. No accounts, no analytics, no remote servers, no syncing of your calculations.
  • Ads are provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device and ad-related information to serve and measure ads. You can opt out of ad personalization (details below) or remove ads with a one-time in-app purchase.
  • Purchases are processed by Google Play. We don’t receive your payment details.

Information we (the app) do not collect

  • No names, emails, phone numbers, or contact lists
  • No precise location data
  • No copies of your calculations or history are sent to us
  • No custom identifiers or analytics

We don’t operate any backend that stores user data.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

Callie uses the Google AdMob SDK to display banner advertisements. While we do not collect data ourselves, Google may process data to provide, personalize, and measure ads. This can include (typical examples from ad platforms):

  • Advertising identifiers (e.g., Android Advertising ID/“AAID”)
  • Device information (model, OS version, language, screen size)
  • IP address & coarse location (inferred), app interactions with ads, and diagnostic data

Google acts as an independent controller of this data. For details, see: Google Privacy PolicyAbout AdMob & dataAds Settings.

Your choices for ads

  • Opt out of personalized ads on Android: Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads) → turn off ad personalization, or Delete advertising ID (Android 12+).
  • In-app purchase to remove ads: Buy the “Remove Ads” option in Callie to stop showing AdMob banners entirely.

In-App Purchases (Remove Ads)

Purchases are processed by Google Play. We don’t receive your card/billing data. Google provides us only with purchase state/receipt information needed to unlock “Remove Ads.” We do not link this information to your identity. Purchase state may be stored locally on your device and/or validated through Google Play services.

Permissions & Network Use

  • Internet access is required only to load ads (when enabled) and to complete in-app purchases.
  • Callie does not request sensitive permissions (e.g., contacts, microphone, precise location).

Children’s Privacy

Callie is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13 (or the age defined by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Google through ads, please use Google’s tools or contact Google directly via the links above.

Regional Disclosures

EEA/UK (GDPR)

Where required, Google may present a consent prompt (e.g., via Google’s UMP SDK) to choose personalized vs non-personalized ads and to manage vendor choices. You can revisit consent via the device’s ad settings or any consent screen presented by Google.

California (CCPA/CPRA)

We do not sell your personal information. Ads are delivered by Google; to exercise California privacy options with Google, use Google’s privacy tools and Ads Settings listed above.

Security & Retention

Because Callie does not collect or store your personal data, we do not retain such data. AdMob and Google Play handle their own security and retention under their policies.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect operational or legal changes. When we do, we’ll update the Effective date above. Continued use of Callie after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
